Wigan Athletic defender Emmerson Boyce believes that the Latics' new playing style will take time to get used to.
The 30-year-old scored in the 3-1 away win against Burnley and is pleased with the way manager Roberto Martinez wants his team to play their football.
Boyce told The Sun: "We have changed a lot from last season. The boss wants us to be a physical team but also a passing team.
"It was always going to take time. We're getting there."
Wigan started the season off in fine form, beating Aston Villa away, but slumped to a morale-sapping 1-0 defeat three days later, at home to Wolves.
But the Latics have impressed in recent weeks, holding Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at home before beating Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
They currently lie in 10th place in the Premier League and face strugglers Portsmouth away on Saturday.
