Ex-Newcastle wonderkid El Mhanni wanted by Saint-Etienne & AZ

Former Newcastle United wonderkid Yasin Ben El Mhanni is poised to join a new club, with his agent set to discuss a move with several overseas clubs, including Saint-Etienne and AZ.

Godfrey K Torto is travelling to meet clubs on behalf of El Mhanni, a skilful attacker who was at the centre of a bullying and racism row with Peter Beardsley during his spell with the Magpies' Under-23 side.

El Mhanni lodged a complaint to the club, who ruled in his favour, but he was released in March.

The 22-year-old, who played twice for Chelsea's Under-23 side while on trial, made two senior Newcastle appearances in FA Cup clashes against Birmingham City and Oxford United.

Fenerbahce and Besiktas are in the frame to sign El Mhanni, too, but Premier League sides Wolves and Leicester City are also interested.

El Mhanni joined Newcastle in January 2016, after trials at the likes of Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion.

The former Barnet player, who was dubbed the non-league Mahrez for his playing style caught the eye of scouts and also earned fame for his YouTube skills videos, which led him to work as a stunt double for Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar in TV advertisements.
