Harry Kane celebrates Tottenham Southampton Premier League

Swansea City v Tottenham Hotspur Betting Preview: Latest odds, team news, tips and predictions

After what was another impressive year for Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham side, the north Londoners begin 2018 with a trip to one of the Premier League's most out of form teams.

Swansea endured a torrid end to 2017 with eight defeats in 11 league matches, a run which cost manager Paul Clement his job and one which will likely cost the Swans their top flight status unless it is ended promptly.

Swansea have managed just four wins all season, the first of which came on the opening day of the campaign at Crystal Palace, with two subsequent victories at home against West Brom and Huddersfield.

Their most recent triumph came on Saturday as the Welsh side scored in injury time to claim a 2-1 success at Watford and Paddy Power offer them at 12/1 (13.00) to beat Spurs and record back-to-back triumphs for the first time since May.

The visitors, meanwhile, are priced at 1/4 (1.25) to enjoy their sixth away win of the season, and the draw is offered at 9/2 (5.50).

Kane the key for Spurs

Having scored a hat-trick in each of his last two league games, all eyes have been on Harry Kane in the last couple of weeks - but the England forward might not be fully fit for the trip to Wales.

Kane, who has been struggling with a cold, has missed training in preparation for the game and even if he features against Swansea he might not be at his effervescent best.

The 24-year-old has scored 46 percent of Spurs' league goals this term and without him they look considerably weaker in the final third; Swansea, for their part, have managed just two goals in their last five home matches and against a resolute Spurs defence they could have another difficult afternoon.

Tips and predictions

Spurs have been considerably weaker on the road than at home this season, with Pochettino's men winning just one of their last six away matches.

Backing a low-scoring encounter at the Liberty Stadium appeals and under 2.5 goals is priced at 11/10 (2.10), and is a bet that has paid out in three of Spurs' last six away games as well as proving profitable in five of the last seven matches that Swansea have contested in front of their own fans.
