Rocket League takes to the stage at the Gamers8 Festival in Riyadh - Here are five teams to watch as the action unfolds

As the 2023 Gamers8 festival draws to a close at the end of August, Riyadh will welcome the very best Rocket League teams from across the globe to compete for a staggering $2 million prize pool. Featuring heavyweight competitors such as Team Vitality, Gen.G, and Faze Clan, fans of Rocket League esports will enjoy every moment of this cross-regional showdown.

The tournament kicks off on the 24th of August and will run until the 27th. If you’re still looking for a team to cheer for then have no fear, we’ve put together a list of the top five squads to follow.

Team Vitality

The Hive are well known for their prowess in Rocket League Esports and with their recent win over Team BDS in the RLCS 2023 Spring Split Major, the French team will almost certainly come into the tournament as absolute favourites.

The core squad has been together since 2022 and has come into a huge vein of form in the 2023 season, expect to see Team Vitality near the podium spots in Riyadh.

Karmine Corp

The Blue Wall of Karmine Corp have been in the shadow of their French rivals for most of the 22-23 Rocket League Championship Series Season. With the Winter Split Major win to their name, the KC Ultras will be keen to make their mark and claim another title in Riyadh.

With players like ExoTiiK and vatira, don’t be surprised if Karmine Corp makes it all the way to the Gamers8 Grand Finals.

Rule One

Hailing from Saudia Arabia, Rule One has been dominant in MENA Rocket League for quite some time. Having swept away the regional competition throughout 2023, Rule One was able to place 4th in the RLCS Spring Split major losing to the eventual champions Team Vitality.

Now on home turf, can Rule One step up the plate and beat out international competition in Riyadh?

Limitless

A previously all-American team, Limitless picked up a South African Rocket League Roster in 2022. Completely dominant in the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Leagues they come into Gamers8 as without a doubt the best team from their region and a wildcard to keep your eyes on.

Having previously competed for $20,000 in their regional competition, will the staggering $2 million on offer at the Gamers8 festival prove too much to handle?

Faze Clan

The North American Rocket League scene has a number of high-performing competitions but Faze have been consistently above the rest. They have edged out rivals Gen.G consistently in top-tier competitions and come into Gamers8 as the favourites from their region.

To win, they need to close the gap on Team Vitality and mount a real challenge for the ultimate prize in Riyadh.
