WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Leicester had looked nearly certain to return to the top level when they opened up a 14-point lead over third place in February. Leicester's nine-year Premier League stint was halted by relegation last season. However, they had a bad run of play that made them need to gain some crucial points towards the end of the season, and they watched that lead fast evaporate.</p>
