WHAT HAPPENED?

Guzman issued an <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/tigres-chaotic-goalkeeper-nahuel-guzman-speaks-accused-pointing-laser-at-monterrey-players-stadium-suite/blt802f4044fd957566" target="_self">apology </a>just days after the match against Monterrey - a 3-3 draw. The 38-year-old missed the match due to injury, and was in a club-issued VIP suite when the antics occured.On top of his suspension, he's been handed an undisclosed fine and will also undertake community service.

“Given the unprecedented nature of the situation, the sanctions imposed should mark a before and after in our sport, for players, managers and fans,” the federation said in a <a href="https://fmf.mx/noticia/por-el-futbol-que-queremos-asumimos-nuestra-responsabilidad-de-impartir-justicia-deportiva-con-sanciones-sin-precedentes_2071" target="_self">statement.</a>

Tigres take on Necaxa Saturday in Liga MX Clasura action. Guzman will miss the remainder of the Clasura season and the beginning of the Apertura that begins after the Leagues Cup this summer.
