Mexicans Abroad: Osorio Suits Up
Ricardo Osorio had spent more time wearing Mexico's green than Stuttgart's red this summer and early fall, but Osorio finally made his 2009-10 Stuttgart debut.

For the first time all season, Ricardo Osorio stepped onto the pitch for Stuttgart. Osorio had fallen out of favor with the German club and had openly contemplated leaving the club. Stuttgart, though, have had a terrible start to league and have once again turned to the Mexican international.
Osorio was just one of several Mexicans across the globe to see action, both in midweek European games as well as domestic league matches throughout the world.
Spain
Rafael Marquez (Barcelona)- Marquez started the game midweek in the Champions League against FC Rubin Kazan. He didn’t have a great performance and was taken off in the 80th minute the 1-2 loss. Over the weekend Marquez played the last 18 minutes in the 6-1 win over Real Zaragoza.
Andres Guardado (Deportivo La Coruña)- Guardado played all 90 minutes in the 4-0 loss against Valladolid.
Hugo Sanchez (Almeria)- Almeria couldn’t stop Valencia from putting three goals past the team.
Jonathan Dos Santos (Barca Atletic)- Dos Santos played all 90 minute in the 0-2 win over Sporting Mahones and gave the assist to open the scoring.
Juan Seguro (Real Union Club de Irun)- Seguro wasn’t called on for the 2-1 loss against Cadiz.
Germany
Ricardo Osorio (Stuttgart)- Osorio played all 90 minutes in the Champions League against Sevilla where Stuttgart lost 1-3. In the Bundesliga Osorio played all 90 minutes, but was part of the 1-0 loss against Hannover. He also received a yellow card in the 85th minute.
Italy
Michael Layun (Atalanta)- Layun wasn’t called on to be part of Atalanta’s 3-1 win over Parma.
England
Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham Hotspur)- Dos Santos remains out with an ankle injury.
Carlos Vela (Arsenal)- Vela was sent in during the 74th minute in the Champions League 1-1 draw against AZ Alkaamar and received a yellow card in the 77th minute. He didn’t make the squad for the 2-2 draw against West Ham.
Guillermo Franco (West Ham)- The striker started the game against Arsenal, and was taken off in the 64th minute.
Netherlands
Carlos Salcido (PSV)- Salcido was sent into the game in the 61st minute for the midweek Europa League game against FC Kobenhavn. The defender was left on the bench for the clash against NEC Nijmegen.
Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodriguez (PSV)- Maza played all 90 minutes in the 1-0 win over FC Kobenhavn in the Europa League. He then played all 90 minutes in the 4-0 win over NEC Nijmegen.
Hector Moreno (AZ Alkaamar)- Moreno played all 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Champions League. He was on the field for 90 minutes over the weekend against Ajax where AZ lost 4-2.
Hungary
Juan ‘Kichi’ Perez (FC Tatabanya)- Perez did not play in the 2-1 win over Budaors.
Finland
Alberto Ramirez (FC Inter Turku)- Ramirez wasn’t called on to play in the 4-3 win over FC Lahti in the Suomen Cup.
Greece
Antonio de Nigris (Larissa)- De Nigris played 61 minutes in the 3-1 win over Panthrakikos.
Ukraine
Nery Castillo (Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk)- As becoming customary, Castillo was not called on for the 2-0 loss against Dynamo Kiev.
United States
Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Chicago) - Played final 26 minutes in a 1-0 win over Chivas USA.
Luis Angel Landin (Houston) - Started and played 44 minutes in Houston's 3-2 win over Chivas USA.
Eduardo Lillingston (Chivas USA) - Played 90 minutes and scored an own goal in a 1-0 loss at Chicago; then played final 30 minutes and scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to Houston.
Claudio Suarez (Chivas USA) - Did not play in either of Chivas USA's games against Chicago or Houston.
Mariano Trujillo (Chivas USA) - Started and played 45 minutes against Chicago; did not play against Houston.
Ecuador
Carlos Moran (Cuenca)- The goalkeeper remained on the bench for the 2-1 win over Olmedo.
Peru
Rodolfo Espinoza (Club Universitario de Deportes)- Espinoza played all 90 minutes in the 3-1 win over Melgar FBC.
Emmanuel Cerda (Club Universitario de Deportes)- Cerda played 55 minutes in the win over Melgar FBC.
Nathanial Revetria (Sport Ancash on loan from River, Uruguay)- Revetria was not with the team for the 4-0 loss against Sporting Cristal.
Venezuela
Rodrigo Prieto (Caracas FC)- Prieto entered the game in the 78th minute against Yaracuyanos FC for a 2-0 win.
Colombia
Mario Garcia (Boyaca Chico FC)- Garcia played all 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Once Caldas.
