Paul Hart has this afternoon revealed that he will not be accepting the offer from Portsmouth of a role as technical director of the club's youth set-up.
Hart was sacked from his position earlier this week, with Pompey confirming earlier today that Avram Grant was to be appointed as his replacement.
Hart has not ruled out a quick return to management though.
"I would like at this time to thank all the supporters and players for the backing that they've given me during my time at Portsmouth Football Club," said Hart, in a statement given to Sky Sports News.
"The speed of recent events though has been somewhat surprising an dI'm naturally disappointed not to be able to continue in the role of manager of Portsmouth Football Club.
"Unfortunately I do not believe that having been the manager of Portsmouth I will be able to return to the youth team role that has been offered to me by the club, and it is with deep regret that my time with Portsmouth Football Club has now come to an end.
"However, I look forward to a return to management in the near future."
