Inter began their title defense with a 1-1 draw against Bari on Sunday, needing a Samuel Eto'o penalty to open the scoring.
Some pundits have claimed the decision to award the penalty was controversial, but the fouled party, Diego Milito, is adamant that it was the correct call.
"In my opinion there is no doubt, [Leonardo] Bonucci made contact and I fell," the striker told Inter Channel following the match.
"Unfortunately, we had two or three chances that would have enabled us to close the match on the counterattack, instead it's a draw. The fans were amazing, I'm sorry for not giving them satisfaction."
The 30-year-old joined the Nerazzurri this summer from Genoa and after a successful pre-season, is looking forward to scoring his first official goal for his new club.
