Real Scare
Real Madrid survived a real derby scare as Atletico scored twice in the last 10 minutes to push the issue. Two quick-fire goals from Kaka and Marcelo got Real on its way, but a Sergio Ramos red card allowed Atletico back in it. In the end, Gonzalo Higuain's strike proved the difference.

Barca Bubble
Fielding a team boasting a host of reserves, Barcelona got back on track with a 4-2 win over Real Mallorca. Pedro scored twice in the first half, and then Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi scored one apiece to wrap up a victory that keeps the Cules atop La Liga.

Liverpool face stiff competition when they travel to France to take on Lyon in the Champions League. In other scheduled matches, Arsenal welcome AZ Alkmaar to the Emirates stadium while Barcelona will look to avenge their shocking loss to FC Rubin Kazan in Russia.

On To The Derby
Real Madrid's Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain has made it known he wasn't happy with how his team played against AC Milan in the Champions League, but you can't dwell on the performance and they now have to turn their attention to Derby Day when the face Atletico on Saturday.

Tit For Tat
Didier Drogba and Kun Aguero went blow for blow in Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid. Both strikers notched a late brace in the draw that eliminates Atletico. Goal.com's Alex Diamond says the game should convince anyone still hesitant about a partnership between Drogba and Aguero.
