Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has said that defeating Barcelona at Camp Nou would be very important for his team but added that the most important game for Los Merengues at the moment is the next one, against Racing Santander on Saturday at the Bernabeu.

The Portuguese international also said that the week ahead will be decisive in determining if he has returned to full fitness following the ankle injury which has kept him out of action for seven weeks.

"I feel great. This week will be a test to see if I am back on top, but the recovery is going by very well," he said, in an interview with AS.

"The most important thing for me is to return when be one hundred percent. We'll see what happens, but by mid-week I hope to be working with other players.

"Regardless of the result will it won't be a decisive match for either side but obviously it would be very important to win at Camp Nou. Real Madrid go onto the pitch with the aim of winning every game. We should go to Barcelona with great humility, but the most important game is always the next one. Before we have to confront them [Barca] we meet Racing in league, and Zurich in Champions [League]. That's why now I don't like to talk of that encounter. We respect our next two opponents as much we do Barcelona."
