Hirving Lozano goal: Napoli debut strike continues remarkable streak for 'Chucky'

Mexico star Hirving Lozano made an immediate impact on his debut for Napoli, scoring in the second half of Saturday's 4-3 defeat against Juventus in Turin.

Napoli trailed 2-0 at halftime against the eight-time defending Serie A champions, leading manager Carlo Ancelotti to bring on Lozano as a substitute after the interval in place of Lorenzo Insigne.

Cristiano Ronaldo would go on to score in the 62nd minute to make it 3-0 for the home side, and the game appeared to be out of reach for the visitors.

But instead, Ancelotti's side embarked on a remarkable comeback that started with a headed goal from Kostas Manolas in the 66th minute.

Just two minutes later, it was Lozano who got on the scoresheet in his first half of action for his new team.

Piotr Zielinski got free down the left flank and put in a perfect low cross which Lozano slotted home with his first touch from close range.

Napoli completed the comeback in the 81st minute as Giovanni Di Lorenzo got on the end of a set-piece to make it 3-3 and leave the Juventus Stadium crowd stunned.

But there would be one final cruel twist for the away side, as Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly scored a brutal own goal in the 92nd minute to give Juventus a dramatic 4-3 victory.

It was still a dream debut for Lozano, who only joined Napoli from PSV last week in a deal worth a reported €42 million (£38.5m/$47m).

Lozano has made a habit of scoring on his debut, as the El Tri star also netted in his first game for Pachuca and PSV, as well as on his competitive debut for Mexico.

The winger has also netted on his Champions League debut with PSV, as well as his World Cup debut for Mexico in a win over Germany in last summer's tournament in Russia.

The 24-year-old developed into a star in the Eredivisie, tallying 40 goals and 23 assists in 79 appearances over two seasons with PSV.

By making his debut, Lozano became the fifth Mexican to play in Serie A after Miguel Layun, Rafa Marquez, Hector Moreno and Carlos Salcedo.
