A deal was reported on Tuesday and it now seems that the Brazilian will be plying his trade in Turin next season, after signing a five-year deal worth €2.6 million per season.
Official confirmation is expected to arrive from both clubs this evening, possibly during the presentation of another Brazilian at Juventus, Diego.
Juventus have paid €21 million plus the full ownership of winger Marco Marchionni, a deal worth €25m in total, the amount set as the player's release clause in a contract he just signed on June 30 with the Viola.
The transfer was originally expected to be completed yesterday, but there was a late hitch over the salary that Marco Marchionni would be earning in Florence. These problems were solved, as has been confirmed by Marchionni's agent Bruno Carpeggiani.
"If I was pessimistic yesterday, today I am very optimistic," Carpeggiani told Fiorentina.it.
"The situation has been unlocked, the player has accepted the offer from Fiorentina and is married to the Viola project.
"Official confirmation? We can say that it will arrive in a matter of hours."
Felipe Melo had an impressive debut season for Fiorentina and was a pivotal figure in Brazil's triumph at the Confederations Cup this June. He was also linked with Arsenal, but the Serie A giants have beaten the Gunners to his signature.
The player has also featured for Almeria, Racing Santander, Mallorca, Gremio, Cruzeiro, and Flamengo during his career, and will join fellow Brazilians Diego and Amauri in Turin.
