"It's simple, I want to return to Milan and Milan would be happy to have me back," he explained to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
"There are no real negotiations in progress because there is still time. Now I am thinking of the Galaxy, then [after the MLS season is over] I will think of other things."
"I don't see what problems there might be [in returning to Milan]. I don't think there will be any difficulties and I think I will come back to Italy at the reopening of the transfer market in January."
The former Manchester United player then commented on the Rossoneri's transfer market, in which they sold Kaka and lost Paolo Maldini to retirement, but acquired striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
"I don't think Milan is a weak team. Milan have quality, tradition, the right mentality. It's one of the strongest clubs in the world," he explained.
"[Huntelaar] is a good finisher. A young man with experience in Spain, even if he did not find much space at Real Madrid. I think he is a good buy for AC Milan and I'll put myself at the disposal of him and the club [should I return]."
