According to South American football expert and FIFA agent Jose Alberti, Roma are in the market for an Argentine international.
The Giallorossi are looking to sign a striker in January, and Alberti has likened the player in question, who he refused to name, to Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.
"I have a meeting with the Roma management scheduled in the next few days in order to talk about the transfer of an Argentine player of the highest level," Alberti revealed to Radio Sei.
"He is a player that is represented by Guillermo Coppola, who has been picked for the Argentine national team by [Diego] Maradona.
"He is like Tevez, and will definitely be able to score a lot of goals in the Italian championship."
The agent was unwilling to go into more depth, but it is likely that further details will be revealed after the agent's meeting with president Rosella Sensi and sporting director Daniele Prade.
