Chievo Verona icon Sergio Pellissier has failed to hit the back of the net in Serie A since September 27, but the 30-year-old skipper insists he is not losing any sleep over it.

“It’s just a bad patch,” he told the club’s official website.

“It can happen to us strikers. Sometimes you score goals with your eyes shut and some other times the ball just doesn’t want to go in.

“That’s what is happening to me at the moment. Although, it’s also true that I am misfiring a lot. But I am a human being and that’s only normal.

“What is for sure is that I always give my all for Chievo. And I hope that our fortunes will soon turn. I am keeping positive.”

The Flying Donkeys slipped to their fifth defeat of the campaign last weekend, when high-flying Parma secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Domenico Di Carlo’s men at the Tardini.

“Our first part of the season has been positive,” insisted Pellissier.

“We have played good football and have amassed nine points more than we did last term at this point. Of course, we still have a lot of work ahead of us and this break will help us understand what we can improve on.”
