Juventus striker David Trezeguet has explained the reasons behind his explosion into form, stating that the exit of Claudio Ranieri has had a big part to play.

Injuries and a lack of confidence from 'the Tinkerman' saw 'Trez' endure misery last term. However, he has blossomed under Ciro Ferrara this campaign.

"Ranieri never considered me to be important, but it's different now as I have trust from the coach," the Frenchman told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"Also, injuries to [Vincenzo] Iaquinta and [Alessandro] Del Piero have given me a chance too."

Goal 167 for the Old Lady arrived against Atalanta last week, and the hitman has picked three of his favourites.

"The first against Panathinaikos and the one against Milan, which was for the Scudetto [later revoked through Calciopoli]. Also, my first one at San Siro," concluded the ace striker.
