According to experienced coach Zdenek Zeman, Luciano Moggi is still very influential in the world of Italian football, despite the lasting effects of Calciopoli.

The former Juventus director general was heavily involved in the match-fixing scandal that saw the Bianconeri stripped of their 2004-05 and 2005-06 Serie A titles, but Zeman does not believe that his involvement in Calcio has ended.

"There has always been and there will always be psychological subjugation of referees," Zeman told La Nazione.

"As for the rest, I could not say because now I am confined to viewing from the outside.

"[Moggi] says that he isn't [involved any more], he says that he is finished with football, but I think he is still very influential."

Zeman, who performed miracles at Foggia in the early 1990s, added that he feels Russia's Guus Hiddink is currently the best manager in the world.

"He is a wizard sitting on the bench," he concluded.
