Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has distanced himself from the Italy national team, claiming that coaching them after the World Cup is simply off limits.
Reports around the peninsula suggest coach Marcello Lippi will step down after the tournament next summer and that candidates for the role are wide-ranging.
However, the job is not on Ancelotti's agenda. His plan is to continue leading the charge at Chelsea.
"I will not be the Italy coach next year. I am Chelsea's coach and we will see where this nice adventure takes me," the Italian told La Repubblica.
Despite his commitment towards the London club, Ancelotti will be in South Africa to see the action unfold. He believes a nation from the African continent will do well.
"The World Cup is stupendous and I will be there watching it live. I think it will be [a] close [competition]," added Ancelotti.
"I wouldn't be surprised if an African side finished among the first four."
