Italy coach Marcello Lippi has once again spoken out against the Azzurri supporters for whistling at the team in the match against Sweden on Wednesday evening in Cesena.

"Yesterday I claimed I did not hear the boos, but this is not so," the tactician revealed to Ansa.

"[Am I] Wounded? Sure, no one likes to hear that.

"I don't know if the feeling between myself and the supporters is broken, but it is definitely not broken between myself and the national team. I will continue to work with everything I have."

The former Juventus and Inter boss is perplexed by situation and insists he does not know why the jeers continue to occur.

"This has never happened to a coach who has won the World Cup, then left, and once again taken their place like this," he concluded.

Lippi has come under criticism for his exclusion of Sampdoria star Antonio Cassano in recent months.
