Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has played down the idea that new coach Delio Rossi will raid his former club Lazio for Cristian Ledesma, although he recognised the fact that the trainer will want to add some new faces as soon as possible.

"We will see what is missing from the current squad with the new coach," he is quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.

"Ledesma at Palermo? I don't think he will be able to arrive because Delio will find two or three extra midfielders."

Zamparini's comments are an indication that Fabio Simplicio and Mark Bresciano may soon have new contracts.

The duo are currently involved in protracted negotiations with the club. While Zamparini is determined that Simplicio will sign a new deal as soon as possible, the Brazilian is tempted to wait until January and see what offers come in before deciding his future.
