Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso seems set for a January exit, and Chelsea and Manchester City have lined him up.

Both Il Corriere Dello Sport and Tuttosport claim the Italian international has already decided his future after talking with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani on Friday.

Another meeting is expected during the Christmas break, and it is said Gattuso will communicate his decision to leave the club then.

As a result, his next move is likely to be to the Premier League, where Chelsea and City are said to be waiting.

Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel will be at the African Cup of Nations, and Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti would welcome his former pupil.

The player's agent, Claudio Pasqualin, appears unsure over 'Ringhio's' future.

"We will see what happens. We cannot exclude anything. What is true today could be false tomorrow," he told Calciomercato.it

The report claims Milan will replace Gattuso with Cristian Ledesma of Lazio or Palermo's Fabio Simplicio.
