As Juventus fell to their second defeat in four days and handed leaders Inter an extra boost ahead of their head-to-head clash next weekend, coach Ciro Ferrara’s lamented what proved to be another off day for the Old Lady.
“I don’t think Juve were outplayed this afternoon,” Ferrara declared. “We conceded a great goal and that certainly put us on the back foot a little. However, it must be said we didn’t create enough chances this afternoon and we certainly struggled upfront.
“The defeat isn’t easy to stomach because we tried everything to come away with a draw but it wasn’t to be.
“We have a great desire to bounce back from this result. Every defeat has its own story. Today I don’t want to take anything away from my men. Against Bordeaux we lost and the performance was well under par; today we were also defeated but we didn’t deserve to come away with nothing.”
