Despite starting his Serie A campaign as the coach of Palermo with a defeat, coach Delio Rossi remained upbeat over the performance of his side as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chievo.
“We played a good game, it’s only a shame we threw it all away in those ten minutes at the start of the second half,” Rossi declared SkySport shortly after the game.
“I haven’t been set any specific objectives by president [Maurizio] Zamparini and we have an agreement simply on the fact that I will try to bring out the best the squad has to offer.”
The coach was then probed on the incident which saw Fabio Liverani sent off for a raised arm in the face of his opposite number.
“They boy really wanted to do well this afternoon and it’s understandable that nerves would be high towards the end of the match. I won’t be laying any blame on Fabio.”
