But fans of the Azzurri will have to wait until March or April for any official announcement, as the Giallorossi captain will sit down and discuss the situation with national team coach Marcello Lippi.
"In the end, I will decide together with Lippi," 'Er Pupone' was reported as saying on Sportal.it.
"March or April will be the decisive month for me, and I shall see how I am feeling."
Other than making the World Cup team next year, Totti's focus will be on trying to score more goals, and climb the all-time Serie A goalscorers table.
"As for the goals in Serie A, I am on 187," he said.
He added, "By the end of this season, I want to reach 200."
