Valencia CF have classified Juan Mata as 'untransferable', according to the player's father.
Reports in the Spanish media on Friday claimed Barcelona were hot on Mata's heels after failing in their efforts to sign Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery.
But the player's father, who also acts as his representative, has now guaranteed that all offers for the player will be disregarded.
"I learned of Barca's interest because Valencia confirmed it to me," he told Cadena SER. "But the club said they will not sell anyone and are not willing to accept offers, let alone for Mata.
"Now it seems there is another offer. The first one was for Villa and Mata and now there is another one only for him."
According to AS, Mata has so far failed to come to terms with Valencia regarding a new deal, as the first offer made fell short of the ambitions of the player, who signed for the club in March 2007.
