The player made it clear that the reason that his transfer is still in the works is not due to a lack of offers but merely to his own vigilance in terms of picking his destination.
“I want to make the right choice, I don’t want to leave just to leave. That’s why I’m taking my time. I’m not worried. I have concrete offers and its up to me to make the right choice. It shouldn’t take too long because the club will have to replace me if I leave,” he explained.
Chamakh also responded to Jean-Louis Triaud’s assertion that his star forward deserved a much more high-profile side than Sunderland.
“I understand the president but it’s not up to him to tell me where I should go. But it’s nice of him to say I deserve a better club. Now I have my own desires. I always said that I wanted to discover the Premier League. I’m not spitting on Sunderland. That track is not at all discarded,” he continued.
