Marseille To Sign Kim

Nancy's flying Brazilian winger Kim appears poised to sign for Olympique Marseille, according to Portuguese website Globo.

As it is looking increasingly likely that Marseille will miss out on seemingly Lyon-bound Miralem Pjanic, club President Pape Diouf is looking to bolster the number of attacking midfield options open to Eric Gerets.

Neither of last summer's signings, Karim Ziani nor Bolo Zenden, have made a great impression at the Stade Vélodrome while Kanga Akalé is only with the club on a loan deal and hot prospect André Ayew is too young to expect a great deal of consistency from.

Kim would therefore seem a logical option and, if the reports on Globo are to be believed, the two clubs have already agreed a fee and it is merely a matter of the player signing the four year contract Marseille have proposed to him

Phenomenally fast and exceptional able with the ball at his feet the twenty-seven year-old's season has been cut cruelly short due to an ankle injury however he was finally able to show the Nancy support his true class after his first term with the club was curtailed more severely by physical problems.

There was one moment to remember in his debut season in Lorraine, a headed goal that helped Pablo Correa's side win the Coupe de la Ligue, although this matched the solitary league goal he mustered.

Kim's goal return this season has been very good, managing six goals in his nineteen league starts, however, these have been increasingly rare in 2008 as a series of niggling injuries and illnesses have restricted him to just six appearances, only one of which lasted ninety minutes.

Without his talents there has been a perceptible drop in the danger Nancy pose in attack; they are no longer as quick on the break nor are they as incisive with their finishing.
