Teams

ROMA:

Sergio: 7.5 - Absolutely dominating display between the sticks for the Brazilian as he made a number of wonderful saves, especially in the second from long range efforts.

Burdisso: 5 - Did make one or two timely tackles and interventions but was mostly poor as he allowed the Bari attackers to get the better of him on three or four occasions. Took time in committing to challenges and didn't quite understand the role of a right-back and looked unsure of himself at times.

Mexes: 6.5 - The Frenchman had a decent game in central defence with a strong and intelligent performance and also tried to contribute in attack.

Andreolli: 6.5 -
Was somewhat unfortunate to have scored the own goal deep in the second half but barring that was capable and strong.

Riise: 6.5 - Had a fruitful match and although he didn't attack as much as he usually does, he was still an important part of the attacking department even from the back and came close with a free-kick too

Perrotta: 6 - Didn't really look very imaginative in the first half but was one of the few attacking players for his side in the second session who exhibited a hunger and urgency to create and score goals.

Pizarro: 6.5 - Didn't have too many chances and couldn't contribute too much in the attack but demonstrated a laudable display in the midfield.

Brighi: 6.5 - Played well and combined decently with Vucinic and Totti in the first half but became quiet after the break.

Totti: 8 - One could question his display in the second half as he was fairly quiet but by the time he had already won the match. The Roman talisman scored a hat-trick in the space of just 21 minutes and two of those goals were sensational and truly world class.

Menez: 7 - The Frenchman looked better today than he has in some of the games earlier in the season and complimented Totti and Vucinic very nicely in attack. He himself went close on a couple of occasions.

Vucinic: 7.5 - Had he been lucky, he could have scored twice in the first couple of the minutes in the game and even hit the post. The Montenegrin striker was a menace to the Bari defence throughout the 90 minutes and had one of the better games of the season.

Substitutes:

Taddei: 5 - Had over half an hour to try and do something but couldn't add much to the game.

Baptista - N/A

Okaka - N/A

BARI:

Gillet: 7 -
Given the number of saves he made throughout the 90 minutes he deserved 8 or at least 7.5 but he committed the foul on Francesco Totti which led to Roma being awarded the spot-kick.

Masiello: 5 - Most of Roma's attacks in the first half came down his area and he had no answer to that. Although he recovered in the second period, it was mostly because of the hosts taking their foot off the gas.

Ranocchia: 5.5 - Like his fellow defenders, was a mess in the first 45 minutes when Roma were the dominant side, but made some amends in the second session.

Bonucci: 5.5 - Was no better than Ranocchia.

Parisi: 6 - Had a decent game and came out in the second half to help his team in attack.

Antonelli: 5.5 - Had a poor first half and was substituted on the hour mark.

Donati: 6 - It was he who committed the foul on Totti to give away a free-kick in the first half from which the Roma captain scored. But, he did decently for the rest of the game.

Almiron: 6.5 - Struck the woodwork in the second period from a long distance and went close on one more occasion with a similarly well taken long range shot.

Langella: 6 -
Should have buried a left-footed volley in the first half. Except that he was pretty much smothered for the 45 or so minutes he was on the pitch.

Barreto: 5.5 - Had two excellent chances when he was in an one-on-one situation with Julio Cesar but on both times failed to thread the ball past the Roma custodian.

Kutuzov: 4 - Was terribly anonymous for the 60 minutes he was on the pitch.

Substitutes:

Koman: 6.5 - His introduction at the start of the second half gave Bari more options and more creativity. The striker went close on a couple of occasions with long range efforts and helped his side play a more passing and effective football than they had without him in the first 45 minutes.

Kamata: 6.5 - Like Koman he was an important introduction in the second half and made the Roma defenders work hard.

Meggiorini - 6 - Didn't get much to do after coming on for Kutuzov on the hour mark.
