Valencia’s financial troubles have been well documented in the past but, with the summer approaching, they could be more relevant than ever.

Already the likes of David Villa, David Silva and Raul Albiol have been rumoured to be leaving the Mestalla, with Real Madrid and Barcelona just two of the clubs thought to be interested.

Sporting director Fernando Gomez has revealed that they will almost certainly have to lose around 13 players, whilst Unai Emery has said that he wants a squad of 22-23 for next season.

Hence, los Che look as though they are going to be heavily involved in the transfer market this summer and will be trying to build a squad able to compete not just in La Primera Division, but in the Europa League too.

Predicted Line-Up 2009-2010:

Cesar

Bruno     Albiol    Alexis    Mathieu

Fernandes    Granero

Pablo      Silva     Mata

Fedor/Le Tallec

Squad: Guaita, Maduro, Dealbert, Carleto, Miguel, Marchena, Albelda, Baraja, Vicente, Michel

IN (6)

Jeremy Mathieu
- The left-back position was a troublesome spot for Emery last season and the signing of Mathieu is an ideal way to start the summer. Voted as the best left-back in Ligue 1 by France Football during the previous campaign, he should prove to be a great asset to Valencia over the next few years.

Angel Dealbert -
Like Mathieu, Dealbert has already been signed this summer and he could well be a shrewd addition by Fernando Gomez. At the age of 25 he might not be particularly young but he was a key player for Castellon during the course of last season and with Valencia already short on centre-backs and Albiol possibly off, he could play an important role at the Mestalla.

Nicolas Fedor - The Venezuelan was on loan at Salamanca for all of last season and he impressed too, scoring fifteen times and helping them into the top-half of the table. Whilst he has not settled at the Mestalla since breaking through at senior level, now could be the time to hold onto him - and with Villa unlikely to be at Valencia next season, there could be a shortage of strikers.

Damien Le Tallec
- Whilst his younger brother Anthony might not have cut it at Liverpool, there are still high hopes for Damien Le Tallec and Valencia are reportedly in negotiations with Rennes to sign him already. At the age of 19 and seemingly with a bright future ahead of him, he looks as though he could be ideal for Valencia and strengthen the forward line.

Bruno -
There has been talk of Valencia signing Mouhamadou Dabo from Saint-Etienne, but as with all players who haven’t played in Spain he could be a gamble, so Bruno is the preferred option. The right-back will come on a free transfer from Almeria and there is no doubting his quality, as he has shown that he has more than enough talent to compete in La Primera during the past few seasons.

Esteban Granero - Granero's future is seemingly unclear at the moment but, should he become available, then he would be an ideal signing for Valencia. His strength and vision will add to the midfield and, with neither Ruben Baraja nor David Albelda getting any younger, he could fit in well.

OUT (12)

David Villa -
Ideally no one would want to sell David Villa but it looks extremely likely that Valencia will have to this summer and that they will do so to either Madrid or Barcelona. If they sell to the former they could make money and Alvaro Negredo, whilst if they sell to the Catalans they are likely to make somewhere I the region of €50 million, which, considering Valencia’s financial situation, could be significant.

Joaquin -
Perhaps one level below the likes of David Villa, David Silva and Raul Albiol, Joaquin could still fetch a decent price in the transfer market and he does not appear to be irreplaceable. Pablo Hernandez has proved already that he has enormous potential and Joaquin’s exit would give him a chance to start down the right wing.

Emiliano Moretti - There have been rumours that the Italian could be on his way back home this summer and it is not inconceivable that Emery could let him go.

Ever Banega - The midfielder has already expressed his desire not to return to Valencia this summer and if Atletico Madrid are willing to pay for him, then it may be best to let him go.

Asier del Horno -
With Mathieu already signed, chances are likely to be few and far between for Del Horno next season and the best thing for him and Valencia might be a change of club.

Hugo Viana - Unai Emery has made it clear throughout his time in charge that there are players who he doesn’t seem to count on and Viana is one of those. The Portuguese midfielder looks almost certain to be leaving the Mestalla this summer and Sporting Lisbon are rumoured to be interested.

Nikola Zigic - The Serbian might have been in inspired form for Racing Santander but as long as Emery is in charge it doesn’t look as though his future is at Valencia. There will no doubt be plenty of clubs interested in his services should he be put up for sale and it might be best for him to leave los Che for good.

David Navarro -
The defender might have played nearly every game for Mallorca last season but, depending on who leaves this summer, he could struggle to get a match with Valencia. Hence, it might be best for him to leave the club at the age of 29, safe in the knowledge that he should be able to find another team to play for.

Nacho - After a highly unsuccessful loan spell with Newcastle United Nacho will be coming back to Valencia this summer but it is unlikely that he will stay. At the age of 27 he is not really the kind of player that Emery appears to be looking for in his side and should be sold.

Miguel Angulo - Appreciated for so long at Valencia due to his work-rate and versatility, it seems unlikely that 31-year-old Angulo will get many more opportunities with los Che and he may well be off this summer.

Sunny (Loan) - At the age of only 20 it might be foolish to let Sunny leave for good this summer so perhaps another loan spell would be ideal, hopefully one where he could stay fit and play more matches.

Renan (Loan) - There have been talks that with Cesar Sanchez extending his deal with Valencia by another year, Renan will be sent out on loan this summer. Whether or not Emery will be willing to do this with just Vicente Guaita as cover remains to be seen but it could be an option.
