Despite looking set to add Karim Benzema to a squad that already boasts Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid are apparently only just halfway toward completing their reconstruction project.

Marca, the first to speculate that Los Blancos would close a deal to sign Benzema, is now reporting that negotiations with Liverpool for Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa have reached the advanced stages.

Not only that, the newspaper believes that the ‘Casa Blanca’ have targeted David Silva as their next transfer objective and will reopen talks with Valencia once the deal with the Reds duo is completed.

The Madrid-based daily expects Silva to cost around €20-25 million, but it would depend largely on whether or not Barcelona manage to lure David Villa away from the Mestalla.

Los Che had labelled Silva as indispensable several weeks ago, before doing the same with ‘El Guaje’, and they have made it perfectly clear that they will only sell one of them if they desperately need the money to ease their financial burden.
