After Juande Ramos' sacking by CSKA Moscow, Manolo Jimenez has expressed his admiration for the former Sevilla and Real Madrid tactician.

Jimenez, who is currently in charge at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, added that he never wishes misfortune on any of his fellow coaches, particularly one as pioneering as Ramos.

"Juande had a magnificent season with Real Madrid and didn't continue because there were many changes," Jimenez told AS, referring to Florentino Perez's return to the presidency at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I don't wish anything bad on any compatriot, particularly one who has planted the flag for Spanish coaches in Russia."

Ramos ended Sevilla's run of without a trophy that had lasted almost 60 years during his time with los Rojiblancos, winning two consecutive UEFA Cups and a Copa del Rey.

As the coach who picked up where Ramos left off, Jimenez recognises the achievements of his predecessor.

"If I am reminded of Juande as Sevilla's coach, I feel wonderful. It's right to remember the good things that have gone through the club."
