Mallorca face a three-point deduction in the Primera Division if they continue to refuse to pay damages to Red Star Belgrade for the transfer of Bosko Jankovic.

Los Barralets signed the Serbian, who now plays for Genoa, for €1.8 million from Red Star in 2006 before selling him to Palermo for €4.5m in 2007.

However, AS report that the Balkan side have repeatedly requested that Mallorca pay them €22,000.

Jankovic had been brought through the Red Star youth system and was signed by the Spanish side at the age of 22, and the Serbians believe they are entitled to additional compensation for the player's early education.

Red Star recently appealed to FIFA to intercede as no agreement was forthcoming, and they ordered Mallorca to pay the sum. The matter should be cleared up in the coming hours - they claimed to have paid the debt yesterday - but football's governing body has warned the Spanish club that they could face a three-point penalty if the issue is not resolved.
