"They [Real Madrid] are the victim of the treble, they made signings that were hard on the chequebook," Xavi told a press conference before adding that Los Merengues "signed well" during the summer transfer window.
The most expensive of those signings, Cristiano Ronaldo, looks to be available for El Clasico on November 29 and Xavi acknowledges that the Portuguese winger is "capable of winning games on his own".
The Barcelona playmaker also had words of praise for Real coach Manuel Pellegrini, describing the Chilean as "a fantastic coach that lives and dies by his ideas".
In contrast to the changes at Madrid, Xavi said Barcelona are a "complete team who know how to play together in the Barca philosophy".
