Contrary to earlier reports, Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini will leave Raul on the bench for tonight's match against Racing Santander.

Marca claimed this morning that the striker was set to be deployed in a three-man attack, but the Madrid-based newspaper are now reporting that the coach has changed his mind and will leave Raul on the bench.

As a result, Raul will have to wait for his opportunity once again. Incredibly, the 32-year-old has only started one of Real Madrid's last five matches - against Alcorcon in the Copa del Rey.

The usual duo of Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema will start in attack in the Santiago Bernabeu tonight, according to Marca, and will be supported by a midfield consisting of Xabi Alonso, Esteban Granero, Kaka and Marcelo.

Alvaro Arbeloa will replace the suspended Sergio Ramos at right back, while centre back Ezequiel Garay looks set to play against his former club. Pepe and Royston Drenthe make up the rest of the defence.
