“I think the draw was the right result. We had more of the possession, but we didn’t create many chances," Van Gaal told the press after the match.
"I’m still satisfied though. It was much more difficult for us than [against Eintracht Frankfurt] because Stuttgart were much better organised and threw themselves at everything.
"We didn’t play badly at all, but we didn’t do enough with the third and fourth passes of our attacking moves. If that’s not working, we won’t score goals.“
The Bavarians sit sixth in the table following last weekend's result.
