The Schwaben lost forward Mario Gomez to Bayern last summer and his replacement, Pavel Pogrebnyak, has been far from impressive so far.
They are therefore keen to add another gaol-getter to their ranks in the upcoming winter transfer window. Toni is supposedly their primary target.
The Italian international is no longer an undisputed starter at Bayern and could opt to leave the Bavarians in order to get regular first team football elsewhere.
English side West Ham United are also believed to be keeping tabs on the former Fiorentina star.
