Russian national team coach Hiddink will conduct courses for both coaches and players.
Wits’ development coach Eric Tinkler told KickOff.com that the Dutch coach will be here as part of their on-going exchange programme.
“Our aim is to see South African football grow and we really don’t just say it is for Wits coaches only, coaches from other clubs too can come and join in,” he said.
Hiddink is not the first Dutch coach to grace the Wits Academy premises. Earlier this year, former Barcelona coach Frank Rikjaard also took part in a coaching clinic at the Academy.
“It is the wish of Wits FC to see more young players develop into world class material, hence we engage the best coaches in the world. We will continue bringing in these coaches as long as it is necessary for our football,” Tinkler said.
As part of the understanding between Wits and Holland, the current Russian national team will base their pre-World Cup camp and training at the team’s premises and the university’s science department, where world class gym equipment is available.
