Serbian striker Marko Pantelic opened the scoring after only nine minutes of play following a free kick from Urby Emanuelson and the former Hertha Berlin star was delighted with the goal.
"I'm very happy I scored the first goal. True, the red cards helped us a lot but we played much better and the victory was deserved. We are happy with eight points, it was a good win for us," said Pantelic to uefa.com.
Like Pantelic, Emanuelson was more than happy with the win and the winger expressed his hope Ajax can continue their fine form.
"It was very good performance," said Emanuelson. "I am very pleased with how we controlled the match. I hope we continue playing like this."
