Chelsea To Scupper Real Madrid's Bid For Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery - Report
The Spanish club now have another obstacle in their way...

Chelsea are preparing a January bid for Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery, potentially spoiling Real Madrid's attempt to sign the France international.
The Sun reports that the west Londoners are planning a British record £45 million swoop for the forward, and are ready to offer the 26-year-old playmaker a contract worth £172,000 a week.
That is just over £1 million a year more than he could expect to earn with Los Blancos, who are believed to already have agreed a deal with Bayern to take the player to Spain.
Carlo Ancelotti has apparently informed Cheslea owner Roman Abramovich that the Blues can survive the imposition of a FIFA transfer ban in the summer (currently suspended pending judgement from the Court of Arbitration for Sport) if two players are signed in January.
With Atletico Madrid's Sergio 'Kun' Aguero already lined up, the Blues are apparently ready to splash out £100 million after Christmas, with Ribery top of their transfer shortlist.
