Algerian international midfielder Karim Ziani has told Al Heddaf that he is close to making a full recovery from his thigh injury, which has sidelined him for the past week and prevented him from playing for Wolfsburg.
The former Marseille man has undergone intensive rehabilitation sessions in order to be ready for the Fennecs’ decisive encounter against Egypt, which will be played on November 14 in Cairo.
In today’s session, his physical therapist told him to stay patient as there was still more healing to be done.
“Like every morning since my injury, I went through an examination by my physical therapist. He asked me what I felt when he put pressure on certain parts of my thigh, and after the session, he concluded that it would be premature for me to run because my body is not yet ready for this,” he explained.
Nevertheless, Ziani has been called up by Rabah Saadane for his national team’s upcoming match, and he is determined to recover in time for the big game against the Pharaohs.
He added, “I’ll continue to go through rehab until I am given the green light. It’s a question of a few days."
