Amavubi skipper, Hamad Ndikumana, is one of five professionals who jetted home yesterday in readiness for Saturday's decisive African Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia, which will be played at the Amahoro Stadium.
Katauti, together with Edwin Ouon of Cyprus AEL Limassol, Saddou Boubakary (Ahly Tripoli), Jean Paul Lutula (Brussels FC), and Louis Aniweta (Nea Salamina Famagusta), jetted aboard Ethiopian and Brussels Airlines respectively.
The five join Olivier Karekezi (Ham Kam) and Ukraine based striker Cyril Koun Kwame, who arrived on Sunday. Striker Said Abedi Makasi, who plays for Moroccan side Difar El Jadida, remains doubtful for the showdown.
Karekezi has nearly spent a week in camp, following a successful recovery from a thigh injury sustained in September, whilst featuring for Ham Kam in the Norwegian second division league.
With only three days left to Saturday's showdown, Amavubi's head coach, Branko Tucak, knows that his job depends on the outcome of this tie.
After five games, Rwanda remain rooted to the foot of Group C with a sole point out of a possible 15. In 2003, Rwanda shocked Uganda and Ghana to reach the 2004 Nations' Cup finals, which were held in Tunisia.
Rwanda need a two-goal margin to realize their dream of playing at what will be their second Africa Nations Cup. Amavubi's two-goal victory will leave the sides level on points, bringing goal difference and the head to head record into play.
