Italy coach Marcello Lippi is likely to mix the old with the new as he rings the changes for the international friendly against the Netherlands on Saturday night.
According to Sky Sport Italia, La Nazionale trained at the Francavilla Stadium on Friday morning, where Lippi tried out what is likely to be his starting XI.
The players took part in a tactical 12 against 12 match, before the coach mixed it up to an 11 v 11, in which one side played in a 4-3-3 formation. The report suggests the team who played in that line-up will take to the field in the Stadio Adriatico.
Those players were:
Buffon; Zambrotta, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Grosso; Pirlo, Palombo, Candreva; Camoranesi, Palladino, Gilardino.
Antonio Candreva would make his senior debut with La Nazionale if he played. Other new boys Mattia Cassani and Davide Biondini are likely to start on the bench.
Around 1,000 school children were allowed into the session to watch the world champions polish up their skills.
