1946: Avelino Moriggi (63) – Goalkeeper who spent the first five years of his career in the lower levels of Italian football with Novese and Alessandria, before earning a move to Serie A side Lazio. Made his top flight debut in the 1970/71 season when the Aquile were held to a 1-1 draw by Torino at the Stadio Olimpico. After two appearances in his first season, he joined Arezzo, before returning to the capital club where he would be apart of the Scudetto winning squad of 1972/73. Unfortunately, though, he made just one appearance in four years in his second stint and that was in 1976.

1962: Beniamino Abate (47) – A product of the Benevento youth system who spent time with a host of lower level clubs over his career. To his credit, though, he did manage to attract the interest of Napoli, Udinese and Inter, three clubs where he did spend some time. The 'keeper is the father of the current Milan player Ignazio Abate and he is also the goalkeeping coach at the club.

1969: Faustino Asprilla (40) – Spectacularly-spirited Colombian international who made his mark in South America before joining Serie A side Parma. From an individual perspective, the highlight of his career in Italy came in 1993 when he scored a wonder goal at the San Siro stadium to end Milan’s incredible run of 58 matches without defeat. He enjoyed two UEFA Cup successes with the club and scored 28 times in 101 appearances. Eventually, he returned to his home continent to play out the remainder of his career. Netted 20 goals in 57 appearances for the Colombian national team from 1993-2001.

1969: Jens Lehmann (40) – Former German international who had a fierce rivalry with the sensational Oliver Kahn throughout his career but still managed 61 appearances for his country from 1998-2008. These  included two defeats in the finals of the 2002 World Cup against Brazil and in the 2008 European Championships against Spain, as well as a third placing at the 2006 World Cup. The Stuttgart youth product joined Schalke as a 20-year-old, where he spent a decade winning a UEFA Cup in 1997 with victory over Inter in the two-legged final. Two years later, he earned a move to Milan where he failed to make his mark, making just five appearances in a Scudetto winning season for the Rossoneri. Immediately offloaded to Borussia Dortmund, he rediscovered his touch which resulted in him joining Arsenal in England. It was here that he won a Premier League title but arguably cost his club a Champions League in 2006 when he was sent off after just 18 minutes in the final against Barcelona. Currently playing with his childhood club Stuttgart, where he intends to finish his career.

1985: Aleksandar Kolarov (24) – Talented Lazio defender who joined the capital outfit from a local Serbian club in 2007. Having won a Coppa Italia and an Italian Super Cup he has attracted the interest of some of the higher profile clubs in Italy and could find himself on the move before too long. Has already earned five caps for the Serbian national team and will be hopeful of booking his ticket to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
