Sulley Muntari has been a really influential player for Italian champions Inter in the last few matches in Serie A but he couldn't do much against Livorno on Sunday. He injured himself around the 21st minute mark and had to be substituted in the 28th minute by Esteban Cambiasso.

Inter, though, didn't really need him as they defeated Livorno 2-0 to stretch their lead at the top of the league to seven points. Samuel Eto'o did participate in the match as he came on at the start of the second half but couldn't do much. Perhaps he was saving himself for the crucial game in the Champions League in midweek against Dynamo Kiev.

Mohamed Sissoko didn't feature in Juventus's 3-2 defeat to Napoli in Turin on Saturday that saw them slip seven points off the pace. The Bianconeri are now second in the table with 21 points, as many as Sampdoria.

McDonald Mariga too missed out on this week's action in the Italian top flight. His side Parma were beaten 2-0 by Milan away on Saturday evening and are eighth in the table but just two points off a Champions League spot.

Abdelkader Ghezzal did feature for Siena on Sunday afternoon in their 1-1 draw with Lazio at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. The Algerian international came close to giving his side the lead in the second minute when he went for a diving header but couldn't direct the ball into the Lazio net. The 24-year-old looked to have earned a penalty for his side on 22 minutes when he was virtually stripped of his shirt by Sebastiano Siviglia but the referee failed to see any infringement.

Ghezzal was again in the thick of the action in the 75th minute when he saw his drive get deflected off Stefan Radu to strike the frame of the Lazio goal. If the ball had gone in, then it would have been the former Crotone player's second goal in Serie A this season. Siena stay rooted to the foot of the table.
