Seydou Keita capped another fine performance for Barcelona with another goal in the 1-1 draw away to Osasuna. The in-form Mali midfielder grabbed his sixth goal of the season, which leaves him one behind the Pichichi leaders, when he controlled Carles Puyol's low cross before firing into the corner of the net to give Barca the lead. A late own goal from Gerard Pique rescued a point for the hosts.
Moroccan striker Niouoi Lassad got on the score sheet for Deportivo La Coruna and probably should have had at least one more after seeing Sporting Gijon grab a second half equaliser at the Riazor. Lassad was on hand to score from close range after Juan Rodriguez's header came back of the under side of the crossbar.
Mallorca had striker Pierre Webo to thank as they continued their impressive start to the season with a 1-0 win over Racing Santander. The Cameroonian latched onto a Borja Valero flick and volleyed home from an acute angle for the only goal of the game.
Another Cameroonian, Modeste M'Bami was in fine form for Almeria but he could not prevent the Andalusian outfit from losing 2-1 away to Real Zaragoza.
Victor Obinna was also a little unlucky to finish on the losing side as his struggling Malaga side lost by a single goal against Valencia at the Rosaleda. Obinna was easily the outstanding player for Los Boquerones on the night but should have secured at least a point for his side as his finishing lacked composure.
Ivorian international Didier Zokora produced a typically tenacious midfield display as his side secured a comfortable 2-0 win away to newly promoted Andalusian neighbours Xerez. Sidi Keita was substituted shortly after the break for the hosts after an uneventful display.
