Players

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Goalkeeper

Ohad Levita (RKC): The Israeli youngster made his official debut for RKC and pulled off various superb saves to keep his team in the race for a good result. Levita was unlucky to be on the losing side in the game against NAC.

Defence

Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax): The young defender has managed to hold on to his spot in the Team of the Week by putting in an outstanding performance on Sunday. Van der Wiel was one of the best man on the pitch against AZ and capped his outing with a goal after the break.

Francisco Rodriguez (PSV): Rodriguez helped his team keep a clean sheet against NEC by dampening the threat of striker Bjorn Vleminckx. The Mexican defender hardly set a foot wrong throughout the match and was an attacking threat whenever he went forward for set pieces.

Ron Vlaar (Feyenoord):
The highly-rated central defender was solid as a rock at the back for Feyenoord. Vlaar was never really troubled by VVV top scored Sandro Calabro and put in an excellent performance to help his side to a narrow home victory.

Dwight Tiendalli (Twente): The former Feyenoord defender was handed a starting berth due to the absences of Nicky Kuiper and Slobodan Rajkovic. He played a vital role in Twente’s 4-0 victory. Tiendalli was hardly troubled in his defensive duties and went forward whenever possible to help his forwards. Scored his first goal for Twente with a superb long-range strike.

Defensive Midfield

Orlando Engelaar (PSV): The towering midfielder is slowly recapturing the superb form that earned him a spot in Holland’s Euro 2008 squad. Engelaar showed some fine passing and provided his back four with decent cover whenever needed.

Erik Falkenburg (Sparta): The talented midfielder was the Man of the Match for Sparta in their 3-2 victory against Den Haag. Falkenburg appeared to be all over the pitch and capped a stunning display with the first hat-trick of his professional career.

Attacking Midfield

Moussa Dembele (AZ): The versatile attacker once again proved that he is ready for the next step in his career. Dembele was a thorn in the side for Ajax before the break with his runs down the wing and his intelligent dribbles. Faded away slightly in the second half, but put in an impressive overall performance.

Ibrahim Afellay (PSV): Afellay was pretty much the starting point of every attack from the Eindhoven side in their 4-0 away win against NEC. The young midfielder was unlucky not to find the net, but he will be more than satisfied with his display in Nijmegen.

Miroslav Stoch (Twente): The Slovakian youngster caused Groningen defender Sepp de Roover all kinds of trouble with his mazy dribbles. In addition, he sent in a number of fine crosses. Stoch opened the scoring after only five minutes to help Twente to a comfortable victory.

Forward

Luis Suarez (Ajax): The Eredivisie’s leading scorer once again put in a brilliant performance this weekend. Suarez capped a fine showing with two goals after the break. He has already scored 15 league goals from 11 games.
