League leaders Velez Sarsfield remain on course for the title after coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Racing Club at the Jose Amalfitani stadium on Saturday.

Racing went two goals to the good courtesy of strikes from Claudio Yacob and Ruben Ramirez, but Velez picked up a late draw with goals from Sebastian Dominguez and Victor Zapata.

Having rescued a point, the side from Liniers maintain their lead at the top and are in a good position to claim their first title since 2005.

Colon de Santa Fe
boosted their chances of winning what would be a first-ever championship, after beating San Martin de Tucuman 2-0 with two second-half goals from veteran striker Esteban Fuertes.

Also on Saturday, Arsenal de Sarandi and Gimnasia La Plata fought out a dull goalless draw.

In the most highly anticipated match of the round, Rosario Central came from behind to snatch a late point against Newell's Old Boys in the Clasico Rosarino in front of more than 40,000 fans at the Gigante de Arroyito stadium on Sunday.

Mauro Formica blasted Newell's ahead from long range in the first half, while Emiliano Zelaya drew Central level with a header ten minutes before full-time.

Although Buenos Aires heavyweights San Lorenzo and Boca Juniors are already out of the title race, they played their hearts out in an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Nuevo Gasometro.

Facundo Roncaglia put Boca ahead in the first half, but despite playing with ten men for 40 minutes, a determined San Lorenzo earned a point four minutes from full-time through Gonzalo Bergessio.

River Plate are practically out of title contention after being held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Lanus at the Monumental stadium.

Los Millonarios took an early lead through Colombian striker Radamel Falcao Garcia, but Jose Sand drew his team level two minutes after the break. The former River striker extended his personal tally to nine goals, making him the top-scorer of the championship up until now.

Lanus find themselves only two points behind the league leaders, while River are in fifth place, seven points adrift.

In Sunday's other matches, Godoy Cruz defeated Independiente 2-0 and Estudiantes de La Plata and Huracan fought out a 1-1 draw.

On Friday night, Banfield came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Gimnasia de Jujuy and bottom-placed Tigre drew 1-1 with Argentinos Juniors.
