Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli is ready for the clash awaiting his side against Ajax on Thursday at the Artemio Franchi stadium of Florence.

The Viola are favourites to win this first leg, but Prandelli believes that their opponents will be a tough team to beat.

"I don't think that Ajax are a downsized squad," the Tuscan side's coach was quoted as saying by Datasport.it.

"Even just mentioning the name 'Ajax' has its taste. In the last period they changed something in their programs, but in the past 30 years they made football's history.

"Speaking about today's team, I know that [Marco] Van Basten applied an offensive game with many players taking care of the attacking phase. We shall have to be careful also about their counter-attacks."

Fiorentina are going through some good form in Serie A as they currently sit in fourth place with 42 points from 24 games played, one point above Genoa and three behind Milan.
