Lyon’s veteran goalkeeper Gregory Coupet’s Lyon future is still undecided. The veteran will become a free agent at the season’s end, with contract talks ongoing at the Stade Gerland.

With his future in doubt, the shot-stopper has been linked with a move to the English Premier League – namely Middlesbrough – and Major League Soccer.

However, experienced Coupet insists that he won’t be rushed on a decision and no developments are likely until after Euro 2008, where he will represent France.

“That is not about feeling too old for Ligue 1, but I feel very young for the other championships,” the 35-year-old insisted.

“Honestly, I have as many chances to stay or to leave Olympique Lyonnais at the end of the season.

“We will see. For the moment it is still in stand-by; I will not have taken my decision before the Euros.”

Should the time be ripe for Coupet to seek fresh pastures, he has an idea of who he would like to see as the next OL no.1 – Nice’s hotly-tipped 21-year-old goalie.

“Hugo Lloris would be perfect to succeed me,” he stated.
